THIS MONTH:
Impact of Virtualization and Storage Consolidation on Physical Data Center
Plant
--------------------------------------------------------------
Please join BNUG on November 2nd for a presentation on the "Impact of
Virtualization and Storage Consolidation on Physical Data Center Plant"given
by Aaron Sawchuk,Co-Founder of ColoSpace, Inc..
Virtualization and Storage Consolidation have become a major trend in
organizations of all sizes to reduce operating costs and improve uptime.
One factor that many firms do not give sufficient consideration to is the
impact to the physical plant - the Power, Cooling, and Network
Infrastructure - needed to support much more dense implementations. While
significant cost savings still exist in a virtualized versus non-virtualized
environment, this discussion will focus on the key factors that IT and
facilities staff need to examine prior to starting a large-scale
consolidation and virtualization project.
